ROMAN CATHOLIC CHAPLAINCY AT MEMORIAL UNIVERSITY
become . . . guided
Life often includes difficult terrain, tricky turns, dead ends, and unexpected stops. Spirituality, too, is often referred to as a journey. Chaplaincy at Memorial is there to journey with you and help you in any way you need.
At present there are chaplains from the following traditions on campus: Anglican, Pentecostal, Roman Catholic, Salvation Army, and United Church. We also realize that Memorial is changing to a truly international community made up of many faiths, traditions, and ideologies. We are always trying to build bridges with our sisters and brothers in the other faith traditions of Memorial, whether they be Muslim, Hindu, Pagan, or Jewish.
The Chaplains work together as a ministry team for the benefit of students, staff, and faculty. In an institution designed for growing, changing, deciding and testing, Chaplaincy attempts to provide resources, guidance and support for those involved in this growth and change process.
Chaplaincy also seeks to bring a faith dimension to contemporary issues such as peace, justice, technology and science. The overriding intent of Chaplaincy is to provide a forum for interaction, a non-threatening environment, opportunity for fellowship, as well as individual pastoral counselling and support.
The Roman Catholic Campus Ministry Team consists of:
Anne Walsh and Noreen Yetman
You can find them in the Campus Ministry Offices in the Counselling Centre, Room UC5001.
