EVANGELIZATION—CATHOLICS DON’T DO THAT, DO THEY?

INTRODUCING PEOPLE TO THE PERSON OF JESUS CHRIST

Goal I:  Building Enthusiasm for a Living Faith
We seek to bring about in all Catholics an enthusiasm for their faith that moves them to live their faith in Jesus Christ and freely share it with others.

Goal II:  Inviting Others into Relationship with Jesus Christ
We invite others to hear the message of salvation in Jesus Christ so that they may come to join us in the fullness of the Catholic faith.

Goal III:  Transforming ourselves, our communities and the world
We foster gospel values in our society, promote the dignity of the human person, the importance of the family, and the common good of society, so that our world may continue to be transformed by Jesus Christ, working in and through His People.

HOSPITALITY

The heart and soul of Newfoundland is hospitality. The heart and soul of the Christian Community is hospitality as well. Jesus is our model of hospitality. As he welcomed children, sinners, the blind, the lame, the outcast, healthy and unhealthy, the repentant and unrepentant, so we welcome all who come seeking the living water that Jesus offers.

Hospitality is a way of life.  It begins with a welcoming spirit at liturgy and extends from there to include outreach to community and the world. As we reach out to others, we know not who is actually being touched. We may find that we are, indeed “entertaining angels.”
