Our Vision for this Ministry

 Through Chaplaincy at HM Penitentiary, the Archdiocese of St. John’s expresses and lives out Christ’s command to reach out to those in prison in a spirit of justice and charity.

 Our Mission

 The Prison Ministry of the Archdiocese of St. John’s is mandated to:

• Call the Archdiocesan Community to an increased awareness and understanding of its responsibility to minister to prisoners as it is expressed in Scripture and the Church’s teaching and Tradition;

• Provide practical leadership for the efforts of the Archdiocese to respond to the needs of prisoners, released prisoners, their families and victims of crime.
