(Maternity Leave Placement :  January 7 – December 13, 2019

Applicants have option to apply for one full time position of 37.5 hours week or one of 2 part time positions totally 37.5 hours week.  Please note on your cover letter if you are applying for a full time or part time position.

RUAH Counselling Centre is a spiritually motivated and not-for-profit agency which provides counselling services to the community. Reporting to the Director, RUAH Counselling Centre, this position provides counselling to individuals, couples, families, and facilitates group sessions. The counselling client base may vary depending on incumbent skills, experience, ability, and work assignment. Counselling is provided using a broad range of theoretical frameworks and professional analysis of individual, family, group and community dynamics within a biopsychosocial framework. The position is required to function with a significant degree of independence and initiative, with work assessed by the Director through periodic review and accomplishment of assignments. Self-management and prioritization of caseload/workload is necessary in this position, while referring to the Director in complex or unusual cases, for guidance. 

Education and Experience Requirements

Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology or Counselling Psychology, or related field

3-5 years of clinical experience preferred

Experience in group work, including research and development of selected groups

Experience working with couples, and families preferred

Adherence to legislative requirements and Archdiocesan policies and procedures mandatory. Individual is responsible for ensuring current membership in their relevant association and upholding professional standards and codes of conduct (depending upon membership).  Personal liability insurance coverage mandatory.
