About Us

Ruah Counselling Centre is a spiritually motivated agency that provides individual, couple and family counselling as well as psycho-educational groups.

We embrace an adapted version of Canda’s (1988) definition of spirituality as ‘the human quest for personal meaning and mutually fulfilling relationships among people, the non-human environment, and, for most, the Creative Spirit’. Our services seek to support interdependence between individuals, relationships, communities and our environments.

The five pillars on which we welcome participants are:
  1. Parenting
  2. Relationship Building
  3. Youth
  4. Wellness
  5. Spirituality.

Our services are client-focused and goal- oriented. We provide professional counselling services in an environment which supports client autonomy and well-being.

What does 'Ruah' mean?

The word “Ruah” is a Hebrew word that means “Spirit”.

Ruah Counselling Centre believes in the intrinsic value of each person and in the need for steady attention to the quality of life we are creating for ourselves and our relationships.

Counselling can be an act of hope as we respond to the stirring within our lives to make changes to deepen self-awareness in a spirit of continual growth and development as people. Often, during one’s life stages, counselling may be needed to deal with serious life challenges and can require facing painful life experiences and issues that require exploring spiritual, physical, emotional, cognitive and/or social dimensions.
