Amelia O'Dea MSW, RSW
Amelia O'Dea is a registered social worker (BSW, MSW) with the Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Social Workers. She has a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland and a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Toronto, with a ‘children and their families’ specialization.
Amelia has experience in clinical assessment, counselling, and case management with individuals, children, youth and families. She has completed intensive training in Attachment - Focused Family Therapy (AFFT), as well as additional training in Family Therapy, sensorimotor and trauma-informed approaches to clinical work.
Amelia has experience in group facilitation (e.g.; support for youth who have experienced sexual abuse and assault, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) - Anxiety treatment groups for children and their parents, parenting groups, and is a certified group facilitator for FUN FRIENDS and FRIENDS for Life (emotional resilience programs for children and youth).
Amelia brings a strengths-based, non-judgemental approach to her clinical work. She is passionate about helping clients identify their strengths and feel empowered to embrace these strengths to overcome challenges and improve their well-being.
