Portuguese Naval visit to Fatima shrine at the Basilica

On Thursday, Sept. 13, at 11:00 a.m., the crew of a Portuguese naval vessel will make an official visit to the Fatima Shrine in the west transept of the Basilica. A brief liturgy of the word will take place, with prayers for deceased Portuguese sailors who fished on the Grand Banks. Members of the public are invited, especially members of the Portuguese community.
