Jubilee Year Mass celebrating the World Day for Consecrated Life St. John the Baptist Basilica-Cathedral 2:00 p.m. Sunday February 2, 2025.

All are invited to attend a Mass in celebration of this year’s World Day for Consecrated Life on Sunday February 2nd at 2:00 p.m. in the Basilica-Cathedral of St. John the Baptist.

The World Day for Consecrated Life was instituted by Pope John Paul II in 1997: ” … to help the entire Church esteem ever more greatly the witness of those persons who have chosen to follow Christ by means of the practice of the evangelical counsels and to be a suitable occasion for consecrated persons to renew their commitment and rekindle the fervor which should inspire their offering of themselves to the Lord.”

We are blessed to have in our Archdiocese in vowed consecrated life members of the following Religious Orders: The Presentation Sisters, The Sisters of Mercy, The Christian Brothers, The Jesuits, The Redemptorists and The Vacationists.

In this Jubilee Year, the World Day for Consecrated Life is a wonderful opportunity for us to celebrate with them Consecrated Life as a very special way of being “Pilgrims of Hope”.

All are invited to come and join in this joyful and hope-filled celebration.
The Mass will be followed by a small reception and the opportunity to socialize. For those who are unable to attend, the celebration will be live-streamed on the Basilica website: www.thebasilica.net
