Message from Archbishop Hundt
January 30th, 2019
Dear People of the Archdiocese of St. John's:
This past Tuesday I was installed as the Archbishop of St. John's. On that same day, I was officially appointed the Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Corner Brook and Labrador until the installation of a new Bishop in that diocese.
I expect it will be several months before this appointment and installation take place. In the meantime, I will try to spend some time each month in that diocese. The diocesan staff, both here and in Corner Brook, will be able to contact me whenever necessary.
I am very pleased to have been appointed the Metropolitan Archbishop of St. John's and I am looking forward to my ministry here. It is my intention to visit each parish of the Archdiocese as soon as possible and, during those visits to meet with as many parishioners as possible. However, given this "transitional appointment" as Apostolic Administrator of Corner Brook and Labrador, I may not be able to visit all of the parishes in this Archdiocese quite as soon as you and I might like.
Thanking you for your patience and understanding and inviting you to join with me in praying for God's blessings upon us all, I remain,
Yours in Christ
+Peter Hundt
Archbishop of St. John's, NL
