Pastoral Appointments 2017

Thursday, July 27, 2017

Dear Parishioners;

As you know I recently accepted the recommendations of the Strategic Planning Committee of the Archdiocese. One of the recommendations is to create Pastoral Zones in the Archdiocese. The first step of this particular aspect of the plan is to begin twining Parishes together under the leadership of one pastor, or administrator. The priests in the zone will then be tasked to work together to lay the foundation for the Pastoral Zone. This year, I am bringing the Parishes in Mount Pearl together to begin the creation of the zone for that area and eventually with the Gould’s and Petty Harbour. I am bringing the Parishes of St. Edward’s and St. Thomas of Villanova together, they will work with Holy Family Parish in Paradise, to create the new zone in that area. St. Francis of Assisi and St. Paul’s Parishes will now begin working with Mary Queen of Peace Parish to lay the foundation of the new zone in that area. In the future will create zones, in all areas of the Archdiocese, further appointments and changes to priestly personnel will be made as necessary.

Therefore, as Archbishop of St. John’s, I wish to make the following appointments:
