Update on Marriage Preparation Courses, April 15, 2020
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, all Marriage Preparation courses facilitated by the Archdiocese of St. John`s are cancelled until clearance from Public Health allows us to continue. Any couple planning to be married in a Roman Catholic wedding during the pandemic and need to have a Marriage Preparation course completed prior to your wedding date, can do the online Marriage Preparation Course that has been approved by the Archdiocese. You may email Theresa Whiffen at twhiffen@rcsj.org or contact your parish as they have been provided with the information as well.
In the event that some of you may be postponing your weddings until after the Covid-19 and wish to wait until the Archdiocese is once again facilitating Marriage Preparation courses, please email Theresa Whiffen at twhiffen@rcsj.org to let her know and to be added to a master listing of couples to be notified when the Archdiocese is once again facilitating Marriage Preparation Courses. If you have not registered on the rcsj.org website for a Marriage Preparation course, please go to our website, rcsj.org and selection “Chancery/Marriage Tribunal” and then select “Marriage Preparation”. Complete the registration form and submit. In the interim, any couple who wants to do the online course, please do so but ensure that you forward a copy of verification of completed course to the parish in which you are getting married.
All parishes within the Archdiocese of St. John`s have been updated regarding the Marriage Preparation status. If any of you are considering postponing or have postponed your wedding dates, please connect with the parish that you originally booked.
As we navigate our way through this pandemic, let us ensure that we do all we can to keep ourselves and others safe.
If there is any further information you would like, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Take care and stay safe,
Theresa
