It is with great sadness that we have heard of the death of Pope Francis.  Leader of the Roman Catholic Church since March 13, 2013, devoted advocate of the poor and of the environment, he has led the Church with love, devotion, humour and courage.  While we mourn his passing, we also thank God for the gift of his leadership these past twelve years and pray that he will receive the eternal reward promised to all those who serve the Lord faithfully.

For those who would like to spend some time today in prayer for the repose of the soul of Pope Francis, the Cathedral-Basilica of St. John the Baptist will be open on Monday April 21st from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. for private prayer and devotion.
