Dear Sisters and Brothers;

With much joy and hope, I received and have accepted the Report and Recommendations from the Archdiocesan Strategic Planning Committee on July 07, 2017. I am pleased now to offer you their report, “A Promise of New Life for Our Archdiocese.” This report will become not only a final report, but also our Archdiocesan Renewal Plan, “A Promise of New Life . . . Courage to Renew.”

At this time, I am also delighted to introduce our new logo for our renewal process, which captures the hope, courage, energy and renewed purpose with which, together, we will embrace the future.

I have had opportunity to study this document, and to consult as needed. Earlier this week, I met with the Council of Priests and, a little later, this renewal plan was introduced to the members of Archdiocesan and Parish-based Pastoral and Administrative Committees and groups. I am very thankful to Mr. Vince Withers and his committee for the time and effort they have put into this venture on our behalf. I am impressed with their sensitivity to the numerous current realities, and with the ways in which they have incorporated the feedback from the consultation sessions into the final document.

I am pleased to share the Report and Recommendations with our entire Archdiocesan family of faith through our website, www.rcsj.org, parish websites and in hard copy. I encourage you to become familiar with the contents, to pray and reflect with it, and to discuss it in your parish committees, groups, and faith-sharing circles.

We now move into the exciting and challenging process of implementing our renewal plan, “A Promise of New Life . . . Courage to Renew.” I encourage all of us, together, to provide the leadership needed to bring this Renewal Plan to reality. Together, may we dare to live “A Promise of New Life . . . Courage to Renew.”
